Question 1
The case of Ckergy-Fellas vs the Steelworkers will be used to answer these questions in relation to the Social Media Policies. These policies are meant to safeguard the employees in relation to the posts made on the social media. These policies will help restrict the employees from being restricted on the posts they make (Dyal, 1973). The case entails the initial posts that the employee made in relation to his boss. The post in the social media had many comments that made the boss fell irritated.
This made the boss to sue the employee on the ground of defamation. He had the evidence being based upon the fact that the boss and other top officers in the organization had witnessed the same scenario (Dyal, 1973). This led to the case being taken to the court to create a jurisdiction. The court was supposed to give a ruling based on the evidence laid upon it after detailed investigation.
In this case, the employee was improperly disciplined in relation to the post that he made in the social media. The court did not give a just ruling as per NLRB. NLRB felt that the employee was justified to post in the social media since there should be freedom of such expression and could not be objected to exercise this important human right (Dyal, 1973). The employee was supposed to do exactly what he did. NLRB restricts any policies that limit the employee freedom.
Question 2
I would agree with the decision of NLRB in relation to this case. This is so since the employees was doing exactly as per the requirements of NLRB. The case represents the right that employee should have. Each employee in this organization requires the freedom of expression to allow the company to have a positive image and create a better competitive hedge.
The Social Media Policies are important in relation to this case. NLRB has created a better access to the entire community in relation to the employee. This involves removal of the restrictions that are imposed on the employees. The requirements of the social media's password are against the strategies of NLRB.
Question 3
If the case happened at my place of work, there would be great effects in terms of the employee's relation. At first, the employee would feel that they are not given the freedom to exercise what they experience at the workplace. The effects would be evident and would to negative image of the company towards the public.
The effects of lack of this freedom would lead to poor communication among the employees hence affecting the production. This is seen to reduce the total profits of the organization, as there would be no communication. This will have effects on the boss since there would be lack of quality delivery of essential services.
Question 4
The communication to the employees would be very significant as it is likely to increase the general profitability, as the communication skills are very significant for success of a business. I would directly influence the behavior of the employees using proper communication. I would directly cause an impact to the organization by informing the employees to be keen on what they post on the social media. The posts concerning the boss should be minimized in order to avoid future issues in the court.
In my view, the Social Media Policies should not be implemented in the organizations. This is so because the policies will reduce the effective communication that exists among employees. Effective communication would create a better disclosure for the problems they face in the organization. The social media can help employees develop a solution to this problem and resolve any existing conflicts.
The policies should not be implemented since the boss in the organization will now have the freedom to control the employees negatively. This would happen because the boss and supervisors feel protected by these policies. They would mistreat the employees on these grounds.
